Wedding and Shower gifts

Our friends child is getting married. They do not want traditional gifts. Instead, they want "travel items!" They are going to Spain for their honeymoon and would like gifts to be used towards the trip. They have some clever ideas-museum passes, money towards an espresso at a cafe, etc. I love the idea! Our friends have purchased euros, a travel book, and heart shaped luggage tags. WONDERFUL idea. Maybe more couples could go with this idea....how many toasters do you really need!!!

When the adults kids of our friends got married, they requested travel gifts too for wedding presents. They went on a cruise, so there was a link where you could go online and contribute an onboard credit to their cruise account that they could use how they see fit, like for port excursions, dining & drinks....or you could buy a bottle of champagne or liquor for their room. Since they were adults who had lived together for years, there really weren't any household items they needed or wanted.

What great ideas! Or a small collapsible travel bag, with wrapped pkgs in side--multi gig photo cards, journal, ziploc bags, Amazon Gift Certificates for travel goodies like adapters/converters and laundry detergent sheets. Maybe that's more like a shower gift, but it could be spiffed up to be very special and memorable for wedding. I wonder if you can buy HOHO bus tours w/out dates? I still love my Big Lots travel stuff--maybe a GC for that, too?
What are you going to get them, Bonnie? I'm sure it will be very clever!
