Heading to Italy at the end of September for three weeks. Sure glad that the exchange rate is semi-decent. I've been avoiding Europe for years because we get so little bang for the buck.

The Euro has been getting quite a bit better (1 Euro costs $1.22 today). If you know where to go, you can get some very good deals on food and drink, and remember, tip is always included in the bill.
We also will be heading to Italy (Hotel Posta, Emilio Reggio, Grand Hotel in Sienna, Therme Albano in Padua and Triest) Sept. 18-28. We probably won't meet, but, if you like, drop me a PM with your dates and places and maybe by chance our paths will cross.
Have a good trip.
Thanks for the info. I hate abbreviations....
Euro is hovering around $1.25/1.2499 today!
My husband follows these thing much closer than I do and he feels the exchange rate will probably remain in the same range for some time.
He reminds me we are paying at least a 25% premium when we travel in western Europe.
I just hate watching the Euro getting stronger against the USD, especially over the past six months.
I noticed our European LL package keeps going up a few dollars each day! I did get one and now working on the 2nd one. Hate to see it creeping up!
The past six months have seen a precipitous decline in the USD vs EURO.
So much for my dream of retiring to that little Italian villa in Tuscany. Now I'm hoping I can even afford a small shed behind a cantina in Juárez.
