Where will the Euro vs Dollar move in 2012?

What Greek food would you label "great"? When we were there in the early 70ies, Greek food was still quite authentic, but I can't remember a single food that I would have labeled "great" then. I wonder how much (hopefully for the better) Greek food has changed since then?

My last trip was only 2 yrs ago. Amazing mezze ( so many excellent components) and moussaka. We hit some neighborhood places near the Acropolis/hotel area and one just below the Acropolis hill called Psoros. Haunted by airline crews and locals alike! Heart surgery was robotic and I am close to being ready to take on the world--just a few destinations at a time. Thanks for asking.

As to the memorable Greek food, I remember Mussaka, which I would describe as Greek soul food, but what is mezze? I think, they didn't have that one in the 70ies... Remember, not so fondly, the Greek wine Retsina and Ouzo which made you breeze fire....

mezze is a course--starters--olives, breads, pickles, tziziki (lots of spellings), hummus, baba ganouz, etc.
Mousaka is eggplant casserole w/lamb and potatoes (lots of variations and spellings again) and I think it's pretty much a staple in every restaurant and household at many levels. Not sure what you determine is soul food.

I would determine as soul food, everyday wholesome, local food, that you find everywhere, like spaghetti in Italy (and America for that matter), Cassoulet in France and French Onion Soup, Couscous in Algeria, Paella in Spain, etc. you get the drift...

We put in a "buy" for some Euros at thr present levels.....maybe the right thing to do, whether we visit an EU country or not later in 2012.

I for one got myself some credit cards that do not charge "Foreign Transaction Fees" that let me pay in Dollars, give me the best bank rate and averages the Euro swings. Just an alternative to purchasing Euros outright.
