Where would you go if you were to have your wedding all over again?
I just saw someone else's post about their honeymoon, and it occurred to me, "Where would you go if you could have your wedding all over again?" Now that we're older and presumably have more money than we used to (
).Somewhere with a great beach? A sophisticated city? A trek in the mountains? A cruise? What's your dream re-honeymoon? Please be specific.

We stayed in the former Yugoslavia-one week in the Julian Alps in the Lake Bled area and one week in Dubrovnik. (we had in the past rented apartments so this was splurge to stay at a hotel for our honeymoon!) I LOVED our location. It was NOT the touristy place it is today. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our time at Lake Bled, Bohinj, and Mt. Vogel. Dubrovnik was special-no cruise ships or mass package tourism. We would visit Lokrum and enjoy the rocks and water there. ......Oh....What a trip.
D-your honeymoon sounded wonderful!!!! What would you have done different?

We went to Prague for our first visit. We returned and stayed at the Hotel Hoffmeister for our first anniversary and back again 2 yrs ago.
Interesting question. I think South Africa--Cape Town and a safari."wherever you go, there you are"

Bonniejoy,
I think we wouldn't put in as many miles/hours for travel and look for a place that is more secluded and just lounge and enjoy each other rather than having to be on the go all the time.
While in Sharm we opted for two excursions to Petra and Cairo, both worth it (Petra more than Cairo), but over 20 hours total travel time each day (we had been given false information prebooking about travel times from a sales agent).
I know you are interested in Petra and would highly, highly recommend it!Last edited by danielboldea; 12-27-2012 at 08:25 AM.

I'd be a bit concerned regarding travel to Jordan these days.(same with Cairo but might consider cruise Aswan/Luxor) Petra is certainly an amazing destination. Stunning history and the donkey rides are totally worthwhile! Our Jordanian guide reminded us of Adam Sandler.

Our friends just returned from Petra and had an amazing time. I really need to put Petra higher on my list. It is just a shame I have fallen in love with South America and Greece!!!

We did a small cruise ship in the Caribbean for our honeymoon many, many moons ago.
If we could do it all over again I think we would do a small cruise in the Amazon, Galapagos or an African safariRoam if you want to, roam around the world...........
