Who brings DVDs and CDs?
Sometimes when I am reading about the extras included in a hotel package, I notice the copy indicates the room or suite has a DVD and/or CD player.
Who brings DVDs and/or CDs along on a trip or vacation?
Do all of the rest of you bring along your own movies and/or music?
Am I missing out on key elements of a successful vacation?

Never have brought either unless Boss was studying for training and those were played on his netbook.

No DVDs and no CDs, but I do confess to a pre-owned fourth generation 32GB iPod, which often makes the packing list. Might as well have the music we enjoy.

I actually like it when hotels have DVD players and sometimes they have an honor system and DVDs that you can "check out." One of my favorite perks-I'm not sure why. I think it was because when I went to Vancouver/Victoria and stayed at Brentwood Bay--they had a fantastic selection of movies and you could just curl up and watch a movie in front of the fire. Great way to spend a cold winter vacation. Miss having Brentwood Bay as a LL choice!

I agree with you, ngallag. I've stayed in bed and breakfasts with great DVD selections. It's nice to get under the covers and check out a movie. As for CDs, they're going the way of vinyl. I listen to them in my car on long trips, but that's about it.

Only bought once. We bought some copies to give to some of the staff at a property in Costa Rica. We had gone to this property (Punta Islita) a few times and thought some of the staff would like it. We never bring for ourselves. We don't have any of this fancy stuff. No IPOD for us either. At our apt in Buenos Aires, they showed us "our" ipod. We had to ask for instructions AND call them once because we couldn't manage it ourselves (pretty sad country folk in the big city and the big city ways!)

I never bring CDs or DVDs, actually like rooms with no TVs and no phones! The hubby brings his ipod so he can listen on the plane but that is about it.
