Who has used the most Luxury Link packages in one trip?

I'm heading to Italy very soon and I purchased four Luxury Link packages for our trip of almost three weeks. Has anybody purchased more packages for one trip and if so, where was your trip, how many packages did you buy, and where did you stay?

We bought a two night stay at the Abano Grand Hotel (Abano Terme), three nights at Hotel Posta (Reggio Emilia), two nights at Bagni di Pisa (Pisa), and two nights at the Park Hotel Villa Grazioli (Grottaferrata). We're also staying two nights at the Renaissance Tuscany Il Ciococco Resort in Barga. My wife and I each have a Marriott credit card that gives us a free night. Still looking for reservations in Venice and Florence.

Looking forward to some great pasta and barolo!

We have tied together 4 LL packages a number of times in the past. We might wind up with 5 packages on our upcoming Sicily trip next June. Still waiting for LL to extend the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Valetta, Malta into June 2013. Right now it ends Feb. 28, 2013. Hope LL will come across for us.

Unfortunately, the deal is not valid in high season. I bought it, assuming that I could use the certificate in October since the dates were from now until the end of the year. I called the hotel before buying the package and was told that I had to look at availability on their website, which I did. After making my purchase, I submitted my date of arrival and received a message from Luxury Link this morning that the hotel package isn't available at that time, even though the hotel has that level of room available (junior suite).

Although I'm going to get my money refunded, I'm not very happy about this situation. If a hotel advertises that the deal is good for a certain time period, then they should honor requests made during that time period. They shouldn't honor requests based on how many rooms they can sell at a higher price.

The contact at Ca Pisani had already left by the time I called Luxury Link this morning. I plan to call him first thing tomorrow morning to see if he will honor the certificate. If not, I would be happy to stay in a smaller room for the same price. After all, this was a fantastic deal and I would like to take advantage of it.

That's great! Which four properties are you staying at? Let us know if you set the new benchmark on L.L. properties in one trip. I tried for five, but it's not looking like it's going to work out (see above).

Sorry to hear about that! I hope the hotel manager comes through!

I always wondered if the hotel accepts certain dates based on availability alone or if they have other criteria to triage auction purchases.

I had an issue with one of my bookings...it was for the month of August. When I had called the property they said that they don't have availability for LL packages the entire month. (Their booking site showed availability for those specific rooms and the hotel ended up being half empty during our stay.) After informing them that the package was specifically for that month and agreeing to any 3 days they could offer in August, they confirmed the dates and I rerouted a 4 week road trip.

We were able to secure the Grand Hotel Excelsior for New Year's. It looks like a beautiful property! Will bring back plenty of photos and input!

Sounds great. I would appreciate your input on the property. We hope it will open up for June 2013. I had called LL and the hotel directly, but they could not say for sure if it would be on LL again after February 2013.

On our current trip we are using 3 LL packages and one non-LL package. We are currently staying at the Abano Therme, after spending 3 nights in Sienna and 3 nights at Hotel Posta in Reggio Emilio. Our upcoming non LL package will be in Trieste for two nights.

On a previous trip a few years ago, we spend 6 nights (two 3-night packages) at Bellvue, Cogne in the Aosta Valley, 3 nights at the Aminta Hotel on Lago Majore and 3 nights in Sienna, all LL packages in Italy.

I am sure by calling the hotel directly you might get satisfaction. It is in their interest to get the problem resolved. Hope it works out. Good luck.
