I am working on Greece ff tickets now. My spouse will use USair ff points and I will use a combo of Chase Sapphire Points and UAL points! Hope this can all work together! I feel like a brain surgeon trying to put these pieces together!!! Plus....we will be flying Aegean and Air Canada and Usair....wow....wish us luck!

Planning AND buying tickets ($ or points/miles) gets to be "work". Once you're done, you can enjoy. Ultimately, travel is it's own reward.

01-12-2013, 07:03 AMI do consider using my points a challenge at times. On the other hand, when I do nail down a great award, it's such a sense of accomplishment. Of course, the trip is the big prize.

OK...Holding Greece tickets with US and United....Looking good so far!!! They were kind enough to hold until I could coordinate both trips. So far, flying into Athens and out of Santorini...WEO!

I guess I'm the cheapskate here. I figure out the least expensive airfare, then compare that to the fewest points I can use to fly for free. I've flown from coast to coast recently for only 12,500 miles, sometimes a day or two before my flight. I'm sure those flights would have cost me an arm and a leg, so those were good uses of miles. I also use miles to fly internationally, but I've never upgraded. I just make sure that I get an aisle seat and I'm okay.
I won't be using miles or money for my next flight because I'm going to the Galapagos Islands for free with my son. I posted earlier that I won two roundtrip tickets on LAN. Yup, I brag too much

One more thing. I like using miles to book flights because some programs allow you to change your flight dates without a penalty. I love that flexibility.

I am happy with my free Greece tickets using ff points. (plus it is in high season). WEO! Plus, I can use my Avios (BA) points for a weekend getaway to Baltimore at the pet friendly, Monaco hotel. YEAH!

I agree! Plus. we are flying into Athens and out of Santorini. I was very surprised. The only issue to always keep in mind when using ff points for two people is to always add "2" to the travelers. Many times I forget to change this and get so excited for the free seats, etc. Then I find out there is only 1 offered!!!
