Planning to escape the cold, ice and snow this winter?
Where are you going?
We are headed to the Inn at Perry Cabin this month and then to Argentina in January...weo!
I'll be grounded until mid January.
We have vacation blocked for end Feb, but I doubt I'll be able to hold out that long.
Despite the cold, I usually get to go with hubby on his trips to Prague and Budapest (I am almost OUT of my good paprikas!) and he has enough seniority for Barcelona and Rome, so it could be ANYWHERE. At this point, I don't care where!!
I'm still watching that new safari offer for Kapama Karula.
Well, I guess my Dec 4th departure to Peru counts as winter. Of course, I spend as much time as possible at my Key Largo condo during most of the cold months up north. I'll be scanning LL for something interesting for late spring 2012.
It looks like I'll be going to Guatemala in February or March, since I won this weeks Mystery Auction. Gotta do some quick planning, especially since I've not previously looked into travel there. I know I can count on my LL friends for some good advice, and I'll likely start a new thread in the Central America forum.
Not even sure who I'll go with at this point, my husband who doesn't like to travel.....or find a girlfriend to go along.
Take the GF and have a blast!! We stayed almost across the road, at a private house by the lake.
Hey jmbklj, congrats on the Guatemala mystery auction! I bid once on that one too! Did it turn out to be Casa Palopo? Please start a new thread when you get back and let us know how it was. :)
I am unfortunately stuck in Texas for the near future, but plan to take little trips to the Austin area (specifically one of the world's smallest towns-Wimberley, TX) and maybe Dallas if a new and good package for one of the Dallas hotels pops up on LL.
Edited to say: Oh, LL, right now your selection of Texas packages are lacking.... No way do I want to drive all the way across state to Lajitas and while I do like the Hotel Zaza, I visit the one here in Houston enough. More Texas packages please!
jmbklj, congratulations on getting such a good price on the Casa Palopo Mystery Auction package. We spend a week there a couple of years back. At that time, the property was under different ownership and management, so the experience may be a little different these days. Once we figured out the best transportation options (we mostly used collectivos for surface travel and several boats out of Santa Catarina for village trips around the lake), we enjoyed having CP as our base of operations.
Enjoy your visit.
Costa Rica for 2 weeks in March for our yearly winter vacation - can not wait!!!!
