Window, aisle preferences could cost you
Window, aisle preferences could cost you
Several airlines -- including US Airways, Spirit, American and Delta -- are imposing fees for window and aisle seats, two popular flier preferences. According to 2012 data from Expedia, 21% of customers chose window seats, while 20% preferred to sit along the aisle; the rest had no preference. Aisle seat for me. So, if they started to charge for aisle and window seats, I can see it becoming a game of seat changing to keep families together!! Many would go with the middle seat and then ask to move to be next to their family member. I am always so amazed at all the seat changing. One poor guy on a Santiago flight was convinced by two lovely girls to move his seat so they could be together. He was pressured into it and guess who he had next to him.....a big lap baby!!! The girls felt bad and paid for a drink for him.....

08-19-2012, 02:05 PMI witnessed the same thing in June on an Air France flight to CDG except .the flight attendant asked! . The passenger felt shamed into changing seats. Not cool.......you get what you get......my companion and I sat in seats apart.....shouldn't be a big deal and certainly the flight attendants shouldn't urge passengers to move.

Yet another fee to gouge passengers with - I think it is a disgrace to charge extra for which seat you are in. I finally came to terms with charging to check bags and charging for food but I think this is too much! FYI - I usually always go with aisle seat.
Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

I would have a huge problem if a FA asked me to exchange seats to keep someone else happy over a similar matter.
Of course, I would not make a scene, since I don't need an air marshal down my throat or the captain ejecting me from the plane, but I would have no problems expressing my unwillingness.
The answer is NO.
