Yapta - anyone ever actually received a refund?

I have been tracking my purchased flight on Yapta and was wondering if anyone has actually ever received a refund due to a price decrease after your purchase?

My flight to San Jose, CR in early November has actually gone done by $198 and according to Yapta for AA international flights it has to decrease by $150 - well mine has decreased by more than $150 but Yapta still keeps saying no refund. It gave a target price to hit and my flight is now cheaper on AAs website than when I purchased it - lower than the target price that Yapta says has to be hit. Not sure how this is supposed to work and was wondering if anyone else has ever used this successfully

hI d....On that same refund topic....My AA flight went down by about $70 and of course, you must pay the $150 before you can get a refund. Were you surprised that your flight dropped so much? I was very surprised because this was for a trip in March and 70% of the plane was full! Didn't seem to make sense!

I am suprised that the price dropped as much as it has especially since AA has cancelled and consolidated flights and the flight is almost full. I sent an email to YAPTA and they replied telling me to call AA and ask for a refund/credit. They said the information they have from AA is not up to date but as far as they know for international flights the price only has to drop by $150 which mine has and for domestic flights it has to drop by $250.
Not sure if I am going to actually call AA since the last time I tried calling them I was on the phone for almost an hour before someone answered.

Try emailing AA. I did twice. The first time, they said tough. I just received an email yesterday because our 2nd trip flights changed also and they get me an airline credit. I bet they would respond to you via email.

Was your flight booked directly with AA?
Based on the information on Yapta.com the current re-booking fee for AA is $150 for Domestic flights; $150 International: Latin America flights; $250 International: European and Asia flights.

If you booked with AA, you would be entitled to the difference in price, less the "re-booking fee". $198 - $150 (re-booking fee) = $48 per person
The cheaper price would have to be available when you contact the airline. Writing them an email and attaching a copy of the screen with the lower pricing might do the trick.

I am going to send an email and see what happens. I know I do not want to go through a whole rebooking process and pay $150/person to rebook and then essentially just get $48/person back.
