05-28-2011, 02:17 AMThat is such a drag to lose vacation time. Happened to Boss when they renegotiated pilot contract during bankruptcy but good news is that it just magically reappeared so we have the 5 wks again.
He has the luxury of bidding his work/off days every month tho so we can squeak in a few days to tag on or combine for multiple wks.
I'm sure you'll come up with a good solution for that vacation time! As long as the darned east coast weather will let you get out of the States w/out delays Feb is such a good time to travel."wherever you go, there you are"

I'm surprised to see Alaska Air ranked so low. I've had great luck getting tickets using miles with them, much better than United.

I haven't really had a problem to get the FF tickets and dates on any airline I wanted to use to travel to Europe. I usually book as much as 10 to 11 months in advance and with American and United allowing one-way tickets at half the miles, booking ff seats has become even easier. The only airline I tend to avoid is British Air. BA charges the highest fees for ff tickets to reach Europe, and I feel London airports are a drag to get to Munich, Germany.

07-11-2011, 08:09 AMLooks like my strategy to buy something in the Around The World in 80 Days promotion is going to come up empty. I have looked at each daily offering and only a few days remain. Still nothing works considering expiration dates.
Now I go back to my normal strategy of looking at the web site every day in hopes of finding that treasure trip at the right price with an acceptable expiration date.
