abu Dhabi
For pure luxury, a hotel which looks as it is built for Royalty is The Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. This oozes pure luxury and although it is huge, when we stayed there it was not crowded at all. In fact, one day my husband and I were the only two people on the beach. I wish L.L. would feature this hotel too.

Hi Mary-J,
Looks like someone was listening to you -- the Emirates Palace is now in the LL Portfolio.

From what I've read the Emirates Palace is a bit flashy and OTT -- what did you think?
Cheers,
Julian

Re: abu Dhabi
Nice to see one of my suggestions for their portfolio actually appearing. Jashermd, yes it is a bit OTT, but it is one of those hotels you just have to experience. It is a very large hotel and because of its sheer size it does look a bit daunting but because it is so big, it really never felt busy at all. We were the only two people at the pool one day and the same at the beach. It classes itself as a 7 star hotel, but the rooms at the Burj Al Arab(another 7-star)are far more luxurious and about 4 times the size. Although we had butler service 24 hours a day, we never really used them much. We really enjoyed our stay there, but I do prefer Dubai to Abu Dhabi, but if E.P. came up on auction then I might be pursuaded to bid.
