03-05-2008, 08:34 PMHow about La Mansion Arenal?
La Mansion in Quepos was abosolutely lovely. However, I hear the one near Arenal is awesome as well. I would certainly bid.
PLEASE, see if they would offer a lovely package for us to bid on!

LuxuryLink Sales;
I sent this info as an email to CS but got no response. You might contact this gentleman, Andrew Wilkins about some of their properties in Panama. From what I understand, SSH will soon include more Central America and Caribbean destinations. There may be some hidden gems. I wanted to stay in one in Panama but they had no availability.

Yes! I have heard it is the best place to stay in Arenal. I've heard mixed messages about a few of the hotels that are in the area. If a package is not available, it would be lovely if there was a nice LL rate! What do you say LL??

La Mansion is located on the other side of Tenorio Volcano from La Carolina, it took me two hours to get there. Follow Highway 6 back to the PanAmerican, go a few minutes south to Caas, and follow Highway 142 east to Tilarn and on to Lake Arenal. Continue along the north side of Lake Arenal through the town of Nuevo Arenal to La Mansion. If you're up for a more adventurous drive, turn off of Highway 6 at the sign for Hacienda Tenorio, about half-way from Bijagua to the PanAmerican. This little road delivers you to the northern corner of Lake Arenal; turn left at the T-intersection and you'll be in Nuevo Arenal in about 15 minutes.A few minutes farther east along the newly-paved lakeside highway (Highway 142) takes you to the Lake Arenal dam, and past it to the slopes of Arenal volcano.
To get back to Liberia airport, go back along the lake through Nuevo Arenal, then to Tilarn and Caas to the PanAmerican Highway. Go back north to Liberia, and turn left toward the airport and Nicoya. The trip takes about 3 hours, so you can easily make an afternoon flight if you leave after breakfast.
