Claassenam: Hi. I have been to Morgan's Rock twice and LOVED it! If you go, don't forget to ask for the school's "wish list". I agree with you. I do hope it comes back!!! It truly is an amazing experience. Also, the staff is so great.

Bonniejoy - you are definitely the main influencer in my decision to try Morgan's Rock. It sounds perfect for an adventure-heavy next beach destination (plus it's not a crazy flight as our recent trips have been). If you spot another Morgan's Rock offering, will you please let me know? We'll be sure to visit/help out at the school, that sounds like a wonderful part of the trip.

Hi Claassenam. Yes, the flights are so good. You can fly into Costa Rica or Managua. (I highly recommend Managua.) The flights from the East Coast are great and you have a choice of a few carriers. My only concern is the growth going on in the early. That is why I recommend getting there as soon as possible. THe area near Morgans Rock, San Juan del Sur, is seeing alot of real estate development (just like the rest of Central America.)
Hope Morgan's Rock comes up again also!!!

Re: Nicaragua - Morgan's Rock
We were there last year and LOVED it! What a beautiful place in every way. I hope you are able to go and experience it for yourself.
One of my fav things there was the "Breakfast on the Farm". It was like stepping back in time. We also took a day trip to a volcano. While we were there a bus load of school children pulled up. One of them pointed a me (with my blond hair) and yelled "Mera! Gringos" (Translation: Look! White People) and 40 children all starred at me open-mouthed and giggling. It was a very cool experience.

I was just looking at Morgan's Rock! When you say day trip, does that mean you might need alternative loding to get to the volcano, or can you make it there and back to the hotel? That sounds fab!

Re: Nicaragua - Morgan's Rock
Hi Maylinglai1. You can easily do this as a day trip to a few volcanos. The roads are extremely rough though. I would highly recommend flying into Managua and then have a driver take you to the volcano on the way to Morgans Rock. There is also other volcanos on Lake Nicaragua. This could also be another overnight trip to one of the islands. I really enjoyed all the activities at Morgans Rock!

@ Bonniejoy... I'm getting in later in the evening (9pm) and I wanted to know your thoughts on whether I should stay in Managua or somewhere else. Do you have any place you would recommend?

Re: Nicaragua - Morgan's Rock
Hi Maylinglai1. Stay the 1st night in Managua at Los Robles. It is a small boutique style property in a quaint neighborhood. By the time you get in, go through customs, etc, it will be pretty late. Also, Morgans Rock recommends Los Robles. The rooms are small but it is beautiful and it is a wonderful first taste of Nicaragua. Some will say to go down to Grenada the 1st night but I wouldn't mess around with the drive getting in so late. How are you transferring to Morgan's Rock? I love the company www.tropicaldiscovery.com. (ask for Ken and tell him Connie sent you.) He can coordinate Los Robles and transfers down to Morgans or Grenada. Plus, we stopped at the volcano on the way down with our driver, Felix. (he works for Morgans and is soooo sweet!) They can also stop at a market for you. On the way back to Managua, I would try to stay in Granada for one or two nights. I recommend Hotel La Gran Francia. LUCKY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
