Oh, what a memory you have stirred up, DB! For years I made Biscotti di Greve (orange almond). I discovered it in the 1980's and although I haven't made it for a few years (it used to fill every Christmas box) I will be making it this week for our wine tasting--excellent with white or red wines, and, of course, with bubbly!
What a fascinating property! Unusual, to say the least--my kind of place...Thanks!"wherever you go, there you are"

The towns of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Lucca, Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino are all within comfortable reach by car. Great place to stay.

modern design in rustic Tuscany
To meet the best of both worlds, last year I considered staying in the Argentario Resort Golf & Spa, with design rooms, gourmet restaurant, spa, golf .. really modern yet blended with the surrounding nature in the Maremma, southern Tuscany between the sea and the hills
Would you consider something like this or just go for 100% traditional?
