This is a nice package!! We've been to the Steenberg (outstanding!!) and will be going to Garonga next month. Considering these are truly luxury properties, the price isn't too bad--bet LL can make it better!

There are flights from Cape Town to Nelspruit. Both properties are Pack for a Purpose, too.

Nice package. We are still looking for an SouthAfrican Safari Package. Were these properties ever on LL? If not, this would be a great addition to LL offerings.

Steenberg is offered on LL at times. It is an exceptional hotel just outside of Cape Town, which is fairly compact. It's in Constantia with breath-taking mountains and vineyards. Great wines there and other local wineries. The Kapama Karula Lodge was offered at a great price last year, so I grabbed it. (Alas, it is very pricey now) We're doing both or the lodges but not going to Cape Town this trip.
I guarantee you will FALL IN LOVE with South Africa. Garonga is quite small and very popular, so availability could be tricky. It's what they refer to as Near Kruger--on the Klaserie River in the Makalali Reserve.

K - thanks for the info. I will keep on the lookout when these properties are offered again. I noticed the Kapama Karula Lodge is currently being offered, but as you say, the price is high.
We are thinking of travelling in late Fall in 2013.
How are you doing with your thumb? I noticed your blog about it, but it did not allow any comments. I feel for you but you are quite a trooper, looking at the bright side of things. Keep up your spirits and enjoy your travels. .

My fave pic of Boss is at Cape Point--his face is so happy, so handsome and so content! I am so ready for 2 safaris. I want to see the elusive spotted kitties this time!
