It would be so nice if the Sales Team at Luxury Link could secure a relationship with Tierra Hotels.

I have to get to Argentina after reading O and BonnieJoy reivews!
The LL packages are actually good deals - it is the airfare that is the killer.
I checked airfare for Peru and can't believe how much it has gone up in the past couple of months - pretty much at least $1000 so I imagine Argentina would be higher ;-(
It would be nice if LL could get airfare deals!!!!

Hi D.....check out ff points. Look at the aa or ba card. Consider going off season. I would recommend November or March. We leave in a few weeks for Chile and Argentina. Can't wait to go!

01-12-2012, 11:42 AM[email protected]...look for shoulder season air fares to Peru, Chile, and Argentina.
LAN, which is one of favorite carriers to South America, offers 'spot' sales frequently (they are usually only for a few days or maybe a week, but they are deeply discounted).
We like the newer planes LAN flies (although we had some complications with their domestic flights during our recent trip - will probably have some comments in an upcoming blog entry) and there are sometimes opportunities to buy even lower airfares through travel agencies in Chile.- Ω -

I am getting some FF miles racked up on Continental but discovering trying to actually be able to use them is tough - I hear most airlines make it tough to actually use your miles unless you are in one of their top tiers which I am not.
Credit cards that give miles are not going to happen anytime soon.
We usually do try and travel off season (just not in the rainy season in Latin America). We usually do 1 2 week vacation per year, so if LL still has some good packages for Argentina we may try for that for our 2013 trip. Not enough vacation time or $ to do more than 1 big trip per year and don't really like going as far south as Argentina for just 1 week - you really need more than that to make the cost and length of the flight worth it!

Hi D...I am not in the top tier. We usually accumulate enough points from a trip and that is all; no big ff tiers for us. It is only about 40,000 points on AA in November or March to Argentina or Chile. Great option. The credit card from AA gives you 40,000 points! Something to think about. I have found it easier to use points for Chile than Argentina. Just for fun, go to AA's web site and check off using ff points. Then....check for a trip in March from PHL to SCL. I did see some great options. Just giving you ideas for March 2013.....have fun! (ps-guess you are getting ready for CR in March?)
