Where are the Australia Properties?
Several years ago, there was a great variety of luxury properties listed on this website. My husband and I took advantage of an incredible deal at Seven Spirit Bay in Northern Australia, near Darwin. We would never have discovered it if the property was not available for auction on this website.
In 2001, we also purchased an auction package at what is now the 4 Season's Sydney. The property benefited a few years later when we booked directly to a room that was 4 times more expensive.
As far as I can tell, the website has never offered properties in Margaret River, WA or in Tasmania. If you offer properties such as Cradle Mountain Lodge, I can assure you that the property will receive several bids.
When will you be adding more properties in Australia?
Re: Where are the Australia Properties?
I posted a similiar question on the new Australia/New Zealand board.
There used to be quite a variety of place for offer in NZ, and now there is just 1 (Takaro) that is offered every day. I'm kicking myself for not bidding on the auction for the AZUR lodge in Queenstown, which was offered earlier this year. It appears that it is no longer in the LL portfolio :(

Re: Where are the Australia Properties?
I had the same disappointments on the Australian offers, and discovered (as always, quite by accident) the Australian Tourism Commission "Great Aussie Auction 2007".This was a Tourism Commissionpromotional effort held between January and early March, on the website www.GreatAussieAuction.com . It catered toadvancing Australian travel to theNorth American market, but it appears that they may do this in different parts of the world. It also offered things like an authentic Aussie Barbeque, other Aussie items, and 10 seats at a gala dinner hosted by the ATC in Toronto -- black tie. Really a fun auction with lots available.
Although I did not have a winning bid (some of this was very competitive), it was a well run website, with loads on offer from Darwin, Sydney, the Ghan, Melbourneto Tasmania (lots in Taz likeHobart, Cradle Mountain, Freycinet Escapes), even exclusive behind the scenes trips to Steve Irwin's Zoo in Brisbane, some very up-market wining and dining adventures etc. The auction was a "real" auction, silent higher bids were possible, small increments, everything starting from $1.
The website is still up ....and it is perhaps worth checking out, just to see the range of properties, and adventure travel that was available. I suspect it will be busier nextyear now that I've put this in the community. But those who are serious about travelling to Australia would have found it anyway.
kind regards
