We've just come back from a short stay at the Marques de Riscal hotel in La Rioja.

Fabulous hotel, superb restaurant (one Michelin star).

A great base for exploring the wine region which seems to be benefitting from massive inward investment.

Apart from being somewhat overwhelmed by the local approach to lunch (need a siesta to recover!), there was nothing to complain about.

Now, if LL could just organise a good deal on a suite for 3 or 4 nights, I'll be bidding right away!
