Sounds like Crete to me.

I believe this is Crete.
Wikepedia states that Crete straddles two climatic zones, the Mediterranean and the North African, mainly falling within the former. As such, the climate in Crete is primarily temperate. The atmosphere can be quite humid, depending on the proximity to the sea, while winter is fairly mild.

This location is a collection of three villages, an "upper" and "lower" that sits above the port, Skisma, nestled at the head of the bay a with a view of the beautiful Venetian castle on the island of Kalydon, the famous "Spinalonga".
