Your e-mail clearly states "Palm Springs" -- so unless you're actually going to tell us the name of the hotel, it's not much of a "mystery!"

and I'll get the ball rolling by suggesting it's the Viceroy (formerly the Estrella Inn --now owned by the chic Viceroy group, but still basically an old, no elevator motel with wall-banging air conditioners -- perhaps the deluxe "studio" rooms are nice, but our close friends checked out of the Viceroy moments after checking in).
