I thought it might be New Orleans - The city is named after Philippe d' Orlans, Duke of Orlans, Regent of France- but the timeline is off. New Orleans was named around 1718 and Napoleon was born mid 1700's. . . Any other ideas?

My daughter and I stayed at Madewood2 years ago and had a wonderful time. The plantation house is huge, comfortable and very "atmospheric."
