Re: New VIP Community Contributors Announced!
To the new VIP's,
Has anyone (everyone) else recieved your gift certificate yet? I got a message from the Moderator saying they were having trouble with my email so I replied with another address. Actually when I didn't hear back I wrote again and still no reply.
I'm not in any hurry, but I am wondering if anyone else has recieved theirs yet.
thanks.

Yes, I got my gift certificate (for the quarter that closed at the end of June) on July10/07 in an E-mail from LL. If you've not yet done so, send an E-mail to Nancy Taylor, the staff person at LL who sends out these certificates, Her direct E-mail address is [email protected]
Good luck and I hope you get your richly-deserved first VIP gift certificate real soon.

Seems a bit odd that it would take this long (over two weeks) for LL to send you the VIP gift certificate. Also, seems a bit odd that none of the other dozen or so VIPs have replied to your quiery so far, as surely they would have received their certificates about the same time that I did around July 10. Hope you hear soon from Nancy at LL about the status of your first certificate. Good luck!

Re: New VIP Community Contributors Announced!
Just got back from a weekend trip to NYC and I realized that I, too, do not yet have my certificate. Glad to know that some VIPs already received theirs - I'll definitely send an email to Nancy Taylor as well. Thanks Syrene for the post!

Re: New VIP Community Contributors Announced!
Just checked my emails and there is indeed a message from Nancy with my certificate enclosed!
It's exciting thinking about where to best use it. Thinking about going back to British Columbia maybe in Sept.
Anyone else have any ideas - maybe use it to take you to a place where you would never ordinarily think of going?

Re: New VIP Community Contributors Announced!
Syrene 1--happy to be in the new "class" of VIPs with you and the others! I have same issue with deciding where to go--I really meant it when I felt like a kid in candy store--so many places...
Did you see Seattle 1000 hotel pkg? That's a nice little gem! They have bath tubs that fill from the ceiling and "chose your own art theme" and the reviews on tripadvisor.com are outstanding (except one sour grape type!!)
I always look for pkgs for short getaways where I can get some good bennies included, like massages or museum tickets AND access to some options for food outside the hotel property.
Good luck--I can't wait to hear what ideas everyone has--maybe we'll have a bidding war over the same LL deal!!
Actually, I have my eye on Bali or similar--we have 2 wks Oct/Nov and the need to get away--very far away...maybe 2 LL pkgs? We just did the South Africa luxury safari and it worked so well.
So, have fun "shopping" and keep us in the loop!

Congrats on receiving your gift certificate! I knew Nancy Taylor would deal with the matter very quickly.
I'd suggest bidding on an all-inclusive stay at aluxury resort in the Belize rainforest (last I saw, one was going for $625 here on LL!!!). Or, maybe one of the fabulous high-end resorts in the Canadian Rockies near Lake Louise/Banff, like The Cathedral Mountain Resort (available by auction on LL)?!

Curtiejoe: Hi. Just saw your post. Sometimes I overlook auctions. Which property is on auction in Belize that you are referring to? We are looking at Central or South America in January. Wonder if it is offered at that time. Thanks for checking auctions!
PS- Anothe auction to use the GC on is in Maryland on the Chesapeake. Looks like a lovely property if you are in the area. Also, a beach property (Rehobeth Beach.) Have fun trying to decide!)

It's the Cotton Tree Lodge in the Todedo District of southern Belize. The LL title of the current auction for an ALL-INCLUSIVE (all meals & unlimited tours) 4-night package for 2 is: "Eco-Tourism at its Best in the Belizean Rainforest" The auction ends on July 26 at 8 am PDT, yet the current minimum bid for this amazing property is just $625!!! I'd bid for this in a flash myself except for the fact that the validity dates are from July 1 through Dec. 21 this year (and my wife and I already bid and won a wonderful-sounding LL auction for a stay at the luxurious Cathedral Mountain Lodge in the Canadian Rockies for this fall). Hopefully, the Cotton Tree Lodge package will be offered by LL later this year again for a stay in 2008. If so, we'll be sure to bid on it. Check out the website for the lodge yourself at www.cottontreelodge.comfor details on this unique property. As these photo show, it looks just great!

Thanx for the suggestions on the Chesapeake and Rehobeth Beach properties on LL. I'll look them over soon, as we may want to head down to maryland in October for a shortexcursion this fall if all else falls into place for us.
Curt
