Well, since both you and Fred are die-hard Sox fans, congratulations are in order to both. The Sox beat KC 4-1 yesterday and are now 2-1 for the 2007 season and in first place in the AL East! I guess the two of you won't miss their home opener at Fenway! Do you have season's tickets?
Congratulations to Marolyn, Funtimes, & Fredhashway on achieving VIP Status! Doesn't it feel great when you receive that e-mail that infact you made it? Wow, what a thrill! Also, would like to congratulate all the renewed VIP Contributors. Thanks go out to the LL Moderators who has put this great group together. Curtijoe, I too would love to know the dates for NY so that we could plan a week-end, and be present for that special evening. It will be wonderful to meet everyone.
The Blue Jays' domed stadium is a real treat at the beginning of the baseball season as we too often have snow (as we do today on the 6th of April...) here in Toronto. Before the SkyDome, our Jays used to play at Exhibition Stadium which was open to the elements on almost all sides. As a result, many a game in April saw the clean-up crew come out before the game to shovel snow off the bases and clear the running lane between bases. They were often called on to do the same during the game, especially in snowstorms, and not just at the 7th Inning Stretch! So, while I like the indoor stadium when it's cold and snowy or when it's pouring rain, the Rogers Centre, as it's now called, leaves something to be desired during summer and fall when the weather's fine. Even with the domed roof retracted, it still doesn't have the same atmosphere as classic ballparks like Baltimore's Camden Yards, New York's Yankee Stadium or your venerable Fenway Park with its Green Monster.
If past history is an indication, the event in NYC could take place in Sept. Have a look under "About Us" and click on "Newsletter". You find more info and pictures about last year's VIP event in LA. Hope it will be in Sept. when we are back in the States. We would love to attend to meet all the other VIP contributors and LL representatives. So keep your fingers crossed that it will be September....
No. I'll be in Virgin Gorda! (Even though it would be difficult to pass VG up.) Hopefully we will get the dates soon. New York City is relatively close to us in Lancaster County so it would be a nice trip.
Congratulations to all of the new and the renewed VIP Contributors! Of course, I didn't make the cut, but at least I am still a part of the community and learning more and more every time I visit. Thank you.
So you would think that they would plan the event during the fall...Septemer would be a good time. Times that would be harder for us to get away would be the summer months & the months of Nov. & Dec. Hope that the dates will come out soon so that everyone would have more time to plan in advance (including Bonnie). It would be great to meet as many contributors as possible.
Thank You one and all - especially LL for this wonderful and informative sight. I am so happy - thrilled just like the other new VIP's. The community warm welcome has been GREAT! I hope the Sept ? dates will be after Sept 8th since we will be on LL trips until that time. it would be wonderful to meet other community members. This sight has been such a fabulous diversion - Fun Fun and we've learned so much. Our travel plans now include 4 LL trips already this spring summer and fall I'm definitely addicted. fredHashaway It is nice to know you Jenna - I've been writing Hello Fred on so many posts Good to have a sense of who's talking.
