The Perrin Post
The latest Perrin Post on Conde Nast Traveler's website discusses Luxury Link in an article titled:
"Some of the best values are packages at brand-new properties that are running auctions on Luxury Link, the site that specializes in luxe hotel stays for up to 50 percent off and sometimes even more."

katie, I read the article and posted my feelings. I had to laugh at what Josh the travel agent posted! He can't begin to match the offers here at LL.
Just my opinion!

It doesn't look like "josh the travel agent" is terribly familiar with his competition. One of the things I've found most interesting are the little extras that are included in almost every package. Of the packages I've been interested in, I've checked out what the hotels offer on their own websites and often the LL deals are far better even in terms of perks (massage, cocktails, etc...).

you got that right!
Josh is a joke and I didn't mind calling him out on his weak try at getting some business! Back to your dog house, Josh!

Re: The Perrin Post
After reading thelatest Perrin Post, I couldn't help but notice the one quote attributed to Diane McDavitt:
"Diane McDavitt, was in my office last week telling me that there are currently 36 percent more deals on Luxury Link than there were last year."
I really like shopping for anything....cars, clothes, real estate and especially luxury travel opportunities where I can enjoy a 36% increase year over year.....bet that"%" jumps even higher as 2009 moves along.....more deals and better deals (keep packing in the perks to the auction packages).....that's what keeps bringingus back to LL!- Ω -

Mountie, I think that you read what you wanted to read, not what Josh wrote. He's correct in adding that travel agents are often able to get deals that others can't get and that those deals typically include no cost or low cost add-ons. He did not compare travel agents to websites such as Luxury Link, nor did he say anything bad about them.

Hey mountie, I'll give you a BIG KUDO on your assessment of the posting made by Josh.
Of course, he was trying to justify the use of a travel agent. Listen, I use a travel agent now and then, especially when it involves my business travel. It is as simple as trading a couple of emails and I'm done. Other than saving some time, I don't really enjoy any extra perks, such as those mentioned by Josh. Maybe we don't have to call for Josh to return to his dog house, but it is obvious he is looking for business. That doesn't make him a bad person, especially these days!t-2-f
