Re: st thomas
Although I have not stayed here, it has been recommended to me several times by discerning travelers. 1829hotel.com is in town--Charlotte Amelie, and easily accessible to the port. Not one complaint from my friends. Perhaps someone here has personal experience to share.

Re: st thomas
I hope you like what you saw. There aren't very many boutique hotels on the island--mostly resorts and condo/villa properties. I've spent many a day on St. Thomas but seldom stay overnight. I think 1829 is a great option for a short stay--otherwise I would recommend a short ferry to stay in St. John if time permits to make your cruise easily.

HI Dora-
You may get more replies to your question about St. Thomas if you post on the Caribbean board (which is a bit tricky to find on this website).

Re: st thomas
Hi doramaya,
The website for that hotel is: http://www.hotel1829.com/
It looks like a good location for shopping, siteseeing and walking around Charlotte Amalie. But it's not a beach location if that's important to you. Just depends what you want to do before your cruise.
