Re: WINNER ANNOUNCED: Best Travel Experience Story Contest
Hi O
Congrats! Gerenuks, Czech meat, nudity...what a strange and wonderful range of travel subjects. Hope LL runs this contest again for I'm sure there are plenty of other intriguing stories yet to be told.

kstubbe_ll,
How about a new contest?
Perhaps it was claassenam who previously mentioned starting a thread regarding the worst hotel experiences. I dont think the thread every really developed, at least I havent found it in the community. Ithink the subject could be broadened beyond hotels to permit the variety of things that can and frequently do go awry when we travel.
This could be a fun contest, if LL management would consider it. Rather than offer a certificate in a monetary domination, why not offer a choice of five wonderful resorts as the winning prize.
Its sort of like LL is saying, We, here at Luxury Link, realize you had a really, really bad prior travel experience, but, we want to see things get better for you and at luxury link youcan alwaysexpect a fabulous experience.
Maybe even open the contest to entries from anyone who visits the web site, rather than just members of this community. omegaet might not agree, since he always wins the prizes, but he could have a chance to win this one also!
This is the type of contest that would quickly get passed around the net through viral marketing.
LL certainly has connections with their travel partners and might even be able to throw in some air travel.how about getting one of those fractional jet advertisers to cough up some private jet time. Of course, this might get a little complicated with anyone residing outside the US (perhaps, if the winners should happen to live outside the US, some type of air credit [possibly up to $1,000 in VISA Credit Card allowance] would be awarded in lieu of the private jet ride.
A larger prize offering to a larger potential body of entries should make sense to the management at LL.has to create some buzz and page hits.gotta be good press and increase numbers for existing and potential advertisers.
On the other hand, this could be another bad idea, I have a lot of those.
