Dubai
I love looking at all the luxury resorts you feature but one place you have never featured is Dubai. we have been three times to Dubai and absolutely love it. I know it is not yet popular with US citizens although more Americans are going there now. I wondered if you were likely to feature it in the near future? Dubai is one of the most up and coming destinations in the world.

U.A.E. is indeed a country not to be missed when it comes to luxurious and very welcoming hospitality. And perfect weather (except during summers, when it can become real real hot).
It's also (still) a very safe country.
I have been there 5 times this year and haven't encountered any problem, unless you insist calling the traffic jams in Dubai and Sharjah problematic. They are, but not to the occasional visitor.
When in Dubai, I can certainly recommend the Royal Mirage, a real jewel (http://www.oneandonlyresorts.com/flash.html); when in Ras in Khaimah (one of the seven emirates which constitute the United Arab Emirates), do stay at e.g. Al Hamra Fort (http://www.alhamrafort.com/). By the way, U.A.E. is a lot more than Dubai...
I can also wholeheartedly recommend hiring a car and hit the roads there.
Emirates road will take you thru most of the emirates, all the way to Ras Al Khaimah from Jebel Ali in Dubai and is - contrary to a.o. the Wikipedia entry - very safe nowadays as radars are abundant.
On a last short note, it would indeed be nice if more attention could be paid to destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. May I assume this is only a matter of time?

Re: Dubai
Yes, I totally agree that the One and Only Royal Mirage is abeautiful hotel. We had the pleasure of staying there last year. We stayed in the Arabian Court section. (royal miragehas three different areas-Arabian Court, The Palace and The Residence and Spa)What we thought was a really nice touch was that when we arrived we were met by 2impressively dressed doormen and taken into the foyer. Then there was this huge gong inside the entrance. When we were inside, the gong was struck and announced that "Mr and Mrs Johnston have arrived". We felt like Royalty!! As you say, there are many other places in UAE which are worthy of a visit. In June westayed in The Emirates Palace in abu Dhabi. Now that is what I call LUXURY. looking forward to see which hotels Luxury Link will feature. Regards.

Re: Dubai
I've been checking to see if you havefeatured Desert Palm Dubai yet but nothing so far. I checked out their website but was trying to work out were in Dubai it is actualy situated. Is it on the new Palm jumeirah or somewhere completely different? Just wondered how far away from the airport it is and also how near it is to the beach or the city? Do you think you may feature some of the 5 star hotels in dubai in the future, especially the Burj Al Arab, although this claims to be a 7-star hotel. I must say, it is spectacular, although some people do feel it is a bit OTT. Thank you

Re: Dubai
I have Just noticed that you now have featured the Desert Palm resort in your auctions. Thank you for including Dubai as it is really an exceptional destination with so much variety for all age groups. The beaches are beautiful and the weather is wonderful all year round. Although there is a lot of building work going on in Dubai it in no way will spoil your enjoyment of Dubai. I really hope you will be able to feature more resorts in Dubai as i feel Dubai is going to be one of the most popular destinatons in the near furure. One resort I would love to see included in your auctions is the Al Maha Resort and spa. This is one truly outstanding and unique resort. Good luck to L.L. and hope you havelots of success with the Desert Palm resort in Dubai. Thanks.

Re: Dubai
Hi, the Desert Palm Dubai is about 12 minutes by car from the airport, 15 minutes from the city centre and Sheikh Zahed Road and 20 minutes from the beautiful Jumeirah Beach area. I don't know how much it costs for a taxi but it will not be very expensive. Taxis in Dubai are very very cheap and they are mostly very luxurious. To give you an idea of prices, we got a taxi from our hotel to the gold souk which was about 30 minutes away and it was aproximate to about 7(British Pound). Just ask if you would like any more info on Dubai. We loved Dubai so much that we decided to buy an apartment there. The building is soon to be completed, I cannot wait. It is only a studio apartment but everyone has to start somewhere! Although we will have our apartment, we will still stay sometimes in a hotel. There are some magnificent hotels in Dubai and now and thenI will still feel like living like Royalty, so will opt for a hotel stay. Thanks.

Re: Dubai
Is anyone familiar with this new Dubai property being offered on LuxuryLink? It appears it might not even be open yet. The current auction is for 6 nights in August....I think I'd be cooked to a crisp after 6 days in the desert in August....but otherwise it looks like a lovely hotel.
