07-24-2012, 10:16 AMDubai in August
I'm considering joining a friend on a quick trip to Dubai. I've always wanted to go, so its a good opportunity, however the fact that the trip will be in august really puts me of. For one thing, it will be 45 C which means that it's pretty much too hot to go to the beach and maybe even too hot to hang out by the pool. It also will be Ramadan which means alot of restaurants and stuff will be closed during the day.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Dubai and any advice? I'm thinking at this point I probably will not make the trip.

Did a brief stay but have to look at when we were there--it was a full day connecting from JNB then back to ATL. We expected to enjoy an excursion walking around the area near the gold and spice souks but Emirates flight was so horrible, we just spent most of the day sleeping in the hotel.. We liked the hotel alot---tres funky in a local type area--The Arabian Courtyard--next to a museum and not far from the creek.. Hoping to return sometime for better stay.
PM if you'd like some more details."wherever you go, there you are"

07-27-2012, 04:36 PMWe were there in December 2010. The days ranged from warm to cool, and the nights weren't too cold.
For me, Dubai was like Vegas without the gambling. With all the theme parks, it could have been another Orlando, too. We spent the days shopping and sightseeing and the evenings dining and drinking

04-05-2013, 06:50 PMJust came back from Dubai in February. It was a comfortable 85 degrees F. I agree with exflygirl. Reminds me of a mixture of Vegas and midtown Manhattan. Thought I was walking down 5th Ave in all the Malls. Preferred the souks. Loved Abu Dhabi.
