Kruger park AFTER Kenya safari (would this be a letdown)
going to Ulusaba then to Lion Sands both from LL in Aug. We have 8 days to fill before this. We were thinking of flying to Nairobi and doing the Royal mara safari on LL right now.
Question" Would this be a letdown going to Kruger after migration in Aug. in Kenya? Or is the experience different.
Also, does anyone know where to find hot beach weather and great scuba diving with warm water on the coast of Africa?
THanks in advance

Re: Kruger park AFTER Kenya safari (would this be a letdown)
not sure about which is better, or why, but the migration in Kenya is something to see. Suspect that different is the best descriptor, each country is unique, just as each country in Europe or Asia is, just as each state in the USA is, and if you approach it that way, you'll see the strengths in each. As for beaches --- DIANI BEACH, south of Mombasa. Haven't been there since 2001, but perfect white sand that goes for miles... scuba? not sure about that... deep sea fishing? yes. laze around the coast, and sip a G&T or take a beach walk / ride on a camel. Lots of that available.
kind regards
Re: Kruger park AFTER Kenya safari (would this be a letdown)
Hello,
I've travelled in both East and Southern Africa and enjoyed them both -- the safari experience is very different in the two regions. However, for your trip I'd recommend staying in Southern Africa and visiting East Africa on another trip -- the air connections between them aren't great and you'll spend any money you've saved on flights. There are plenty of safari destinations in Southern Africa which would provide a nice contrast to the Sabi Sands.
Phinda in KwaZuluNatal is much greener and more verdant, whereas Madikwe is much more arid, and both have a wide range of great lodges to choose from. LL sometimes has good deals for Madikwe and much more rarely for Phinda.
If you wanted to include another country Botswana, Zambia, and Namibia are a short flight from Joburg. Recently LL has had some great deals for Zambia.
For beaches, you can connect directly to Mozambique from the Sabi Sands -- there are often some great LL deals at places like Benguerra Lodge.
Cheers,
Julian
