This is close to Kruger, so it would be a NEW game experience for us. We've already done Madikwe lodges twice (near Botswana) and Mkuze (Zululand). We've never been to the Drakensberg area and always wanted to do a major river lodge. The tripadvisor reviews are excellent. The malarial risk is an issue, but I'll consult the right folks for that.
When I get well, it's the first new LL purchase--please keep the auction open long enough for me to get cured, LL!!! Please!

OUTSTANDING!!!

Sitting in Joburg at the SunRock Guesthouse, killing time before heading to the airport for tonight's flight to ATL.

Had a few snags:
KK presented us with a huge due bill for the room package! I presented them with my auction receipt. Mgr and asst mgr came out with shocked faces--wanted to know where I got THAT price?? They finally resolved it but not without concern on our end. At the end of our stay I had the asst looking at LL on my ipad!

More to follow in blog later--it will include Kapama Karula and Garonga Safari Camp--both excellent experiences.

KK is one of the best we've gotten from LL. I hope it returns--I'll buy it at once.

I look forward to the details of your reviews, and also what you used for the malaria risk.

We were too early for mosquito season. Morning temps were too cold for the "buggers". We took doxycycline based on Dr recommendations. It's actually the cheapest, but you take it longer--21 days after return to disrupt the parasitic cycle (if you're bitten). I'm not taking them any more. I'll post the website from SA regarding issue.
We were on the border for risk areas--even tho mozzies don't respect the lines on a map...use your judgement and doctor's advice.
