Going to son's wedding in Taiwan the end of Feb. '09 Planning side trip to Vietnam and Hong Kong. I'm looking at Ho Chi Minh, Dalat and Nha Trang as well as a few days in Hong Kong. Is this too much for 12 days?Our flight is LA to ? (HCMC first?, or Hong Kong?) I'm in the beginning phase of planning so open to suggestions.

I personally would make my initial stop in Hong Kong--it's an exciting yet user-friendly city. It's a good place to start the "body balance" and help you "break in" the Asian experience for the rest of your trip. I preferred the HK island side far better than Kowloon.
There are several members here who have been to Viet Nam who can offer great advice.
