INDIA-Oberoi hotels now featured w/ buy-it-now....but the price is crazy!

Several posters have noted that it would be great to see Oberoi hotels in India offered on LL.

Well, a few Oberoi hotels are now offered on the Asia board with the buy-it-now option.....if you have a spare $27,000 for a 10 day package! Can this price be correct? Makes Aman rates look like motel-6

Whoa! That is absolutely insane. Utter nonsense. There are so many things wrong with this. On the Oberoi web site the same room is $700-$800/night - expensive, yes, but where on earth did they come up with that figure? I have very little for which to criticize Luxury Link but this is beyond words. How did they allow this one to slip by? That's about $20,000 extra for meals, 3 days of spa treatments, and a couple drivers and guides. This is in India, where those items come cheap! And, anyone who decides to go for it, please contact me as I would be happy to put together the same trip for you for $26,000 - just for of allowing me to keep the difference.

It only took two and one half years for Oberoi properties in India to appear at auction packages. Great job LL Sales Team.

it would be great if the LL team could look to add the Oberoi Lombok seeing as they have now added the Oberoi Bali.

The Oberoi Lombok is simply stunning , would open up another market for LL. Alternatively the property could come under the wing of Bali anyway as many people travel between the 2 by boat and plane to combine visiting Bali with Lombok and the Gili Islands.

There have been otehr offers from Oberoi on LL int he last 2+ yrs, just not a plethora like now

Robert, I understand your interest, it's truly gorgeous!--Lombok destinations were not so easily accepted as Bali as the majority of LL customers are in the US and Europe; getting there is a huge effort. I personally think Lombok looks lovely but with the choice of 2 islands, Lombok would be on the bottom of my list (as well as the Gilis since a beach resort was not in my plans)
I was looking at some Lombok resorts when I first went to Bali, and frankly, they are not as accessible as I needed to coordinate my trip. I would likely not include Lombok on the next trip, either. I could be happy in Bali w/out a beach...just my 2 rupiahs!!
