Any First Hand Experience With Asclepios?

I was checking out Asclepios too but nothing offered for 2012 - we wanted something closer to SJ to take on the CRE package so was glad when Xandari came up and I have to admit Xandari looks nicer than Asclepios -in my opinion. Also was checking out Silencio but again nothing for 2012

I think your choice was the best option. If thye'll split the pkg, perfect!!
Our issue with Asclepios was only public wifi--why not in room? Part of my husband's recreation when traveling is streaming our home satellite programs on his netbook--having to leave a room to access wifi is silly. We aren't planning to use cel phones/pc's and annoy people in a public area like many of the local guests might. I see it often in a similar setting. Not everyone behaves Zen-like in these "spa" resorts.
I can see El Silencio (the name conjures up a certain atmosphere!) being rustic...not having wifi in room, tho and that's ok.

After comparing the important points (at least for us) of Asclepios vs El Silencio, we opted for the latter.....a bit more expensive, but price was not the only consideration...GM at El Silencio was very accommodating in developing a discounted 'package price' for spa treatments.

Doesn't seem like a fair comparison between Asclepois & El Silencio, as least as far as prices.

For me it's no contest considering the content of the pkgs:
all meals vs bfast + one dinner
multiple activities/excursions vs some spa/exercise classes
private hot tub rustic luxury vs clinical white hospital quarters
one with nature vs one with zennies
the whole idea of guests have to come out in public to pester others guest with phones and pcs astonishes me...
the again--something for every one!

I got such a good deal on the Xandari package after using the certificate so I can not complain - have not heard back yet on whether they will split the nights but it is not really a big deal - just would save us from having to book an extra night when we arrive in SJ and also save on transportation costs since CR expeditions is taking us to Xandari at no extra cost

Maybe the comparison between the two is not apples to apples...but El Silencio just seemed like the right thing to do.
