Re: Anybody know about the Luxury Link Machu Picchu package
Thanks Omegaet-
I did a search for Blue Parallel. But sorry to say, I think their Peru trip is WAY overpriced---$15,000 for a trip fairly similiar to the O-E trips.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed for an O-E auction

Re: Anybody know about the Luxury Link Machu Picchu package
This is why LL is my favorite travel site, they have fantastic deals. If you price two people on the Orient Express site for a typical Peru package, much like LL's, they have it at about $4000-$6000/person. When I bought the 8 night package (including Colca Canyon but not Hiram Bingham which we added separately) on Luxury Link it was around $3500 total for two people. An amazing deal, considering the level of service and luxury involved.....maybe you could have a similar discount on the Blue Parallel package if it came up.
That said, I can't imagine what Blue Parallel could do to make their trip any better than the Orient Express trip and make it worth several thousand dollars more, as that trip was impeccable.....

cruisinred...no doubt you have checked and reviewed the listings in the "Portfolio."We can assume as long as LL continues to carry O-E Peru destination in their "Portfolio," that a business relationship remains intact, andthereis every reason to believeO-E Peru auctionswill reappear in the future.

Hello
It was a great trip. I took the trip which included Lima, Cusco, Macchu Pichu. The hotel in Cusco is fabulous including the food and the service, Cusco is a great city full of Arts many things to do.
Macchu Pichu isa must. The hotel is very nice and you are right in Macchu Pichu. Take a guide with you. It's well worth it and not expensive.
All the trip i taken with Luxury link were great.
Sincerely
Genevieve Dechamps

Re: Anybody know about the Luxury Link Machu Picchu package
Hi Genevieve. Thanks for the post. I assume this is a package you won on LL? Please tell us how it was to make the reservations? Did you use Inkaterra for the entire trip or did you book parts on your own? How did you do with the altitude issues? When did you go and how was the weather? Did the package provide you with guides? Thanks for your help!

In reply to your question on the Machu Pichu package offered by Luxury Link..IT IS FABULOUS.
My husband and I took the trip and the Hotel Monasteria in Cusco is an extraordinary hotel.
ALl hotels adn train trips between locations or driver provided was exceptional. Do not miss this oppotunity at a Luxury Link rate. We recommend it wholeheartedly and we are not b or C class traveler's. Machu Pichu was almost a religious experience. The altitude gets tough for some but drink the coca tea, it truly helps.

Hi Snow. Did you do the Orient Express package or the Inkaterra package? How long ago did you go? How do you personally deal with the altitude issue. Thanks.

Re: Anybody know about the Luxury Link Machu Picchu package
Just noticed this new auction package offer.anyone heading to Peru will surely want to take advantage of this package.
We spent three nights at the property about three years ago, just prior to Orient-Express shutting down the entire operation and completing a ground up renovation and expansion. We had a fabulous time before the work was done..so the property has only gotten better.
It is a bite pricey, but any visitor will likely agree, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.just the ride (which is included) from Arequipa, crossing some of the Andean peaks, and stopping for a bano and leg strectching breaks on the alto plano, is National Geographic material!

Of course, it is beyond words to experience the majestic soaring of the Andean Condors above the canyon. Each visitor to Las Casitas del Colca is invited to witness this event one morning during your stay.- Ω -
