I love the descriptions of several of these properties in Argentina, but they are spread out all over the country. Would have to cost a fortune in airfares or car rentals to jump around from location to location.

Airfares within Argentina are certainly not cheap. Well, not unless you are a resident of the country.

Hi L...Yes...I saw it. I saw it last year and patiently waited for it to come back. I never saw it again and then booked my Argentina trip and then...guess what...it REAPPEARED!! I was so sad. Though...I did check with them on transfer prices from Mendoza airport and they were quite high. That is the only reason that I am not totally disappointed. Looks like a great deal. Maybe next year!!!

We booked Algodon package for our 1 year wedding anniversary in November, we can't wait!! Anyone have other suggestions to share for Mendoza area?

OH MY GOODNESS...This package is AMAZING. We have had some "job" issues so postponed bidding for a bit. (assuming you got the San Rafael package and not the Buenos Aires Algodon?) We checked air and you will fly Areolinas Argentinas. I don't think Lan connects there? If so, San Rafael is a bit of a distance from Chacras and Mendoza. Are you planning to rent a car?

lhm108...how many days will you be in Mendoza in addition to the time at Algodon? Do you plan to rent a vehicle or use private transportation?

Just an FYI....I had received a response from the lodge. Transfers from Mendoza will be $400usd. I also looked at Aerolinas Argentinas and they fly from AEP. I couldn't seem to find any type of automatic car to rent from Mendoza. I really like this property but need to figure out logistics!

I received more information from Algodon. There is a bus that goes from Mendoza to San Rafael. It costs about $7usd!!! It is about 3 hours. Not bad. I LOVE the idea. The buses in Argentina for touring are quite nice. We met a nice couple that had taken the bus throughout the country. They have full service; reclining seats, food, movies, etc.
