Hi M...not doing this option. We are heading back to Argentina in December. We booked two LL packages but will not stay at Algodon. The connections and cost was just not practical. We will now go to Mendoza, Bariloche, and BA.

My nephew took a luxury bus to BsAs last month--said it was really great--flat beds, nice service. I'm sure it gets tiring after 10 hours, but the price was right!
I was just discussing this place with my husband--we "stumbled" onto in BsAs:
Palermo Japanese Garden - Jardín Japonés - 4994 Buenos Aires Things to Do Reviews - VirtualTourist
So calm and soothing. What an incredibly beautiful oasis in a frenetic city!"wherever you go, there you are"

Hi K...Thanks for the bus info. We have talked to many people who used the bus for transport and each person LOVED the experience.
We are all booked for Argentina in December.....are you going?

I doubt it, B. We have end August safari and Bali end October. I have another medical milestone in a few wks, so it all depends on that. I'll be posting a new blog shortly.
It's pretty easy to get time off because Boss books his days off, as opposed to his work days. I think after those 2 long-haul trips, he'll want to sing, "I'll be home for Christmas"!!! It's not as fun for him to travel extensively for leisure as it is for me. Since he commutes to/from NY, he spends a fair amount of time waiting at airports. I'd very much like to do a more intensive visit to Argentina or Chile. If we do, the nephew has payback! He flew RT on a buddy pass and got his money's worth. I really want to take Boss to Iguacu and Itaipu Dam (we love that geeky engineering stuff)
I can't wait to hear how your next trip goes--we all enjoy traveling vicariously thru others!"wherever you go, there you are"

11-01-2012, 06:11 AMHi bonniejoy03 ~ Which hotels are you staying in during your December trip to Argentina?
My first trip to Argentina was 19 yrs ago and I would like to return again if I can find the right LL packages. I was on a two week business trip at the time and only scratched the surface of seeing BA and Bariloche (which I LOVED!). I hope to see all the things I missed during a second trip.
What a beautiful country--I had such a wonderful time in Argentina and would rank it as one of my favorite destinations to visit.Last edited by lorrainec; 11-01-2012 at 07:53 AM.

We are staying at Finca Adalgisa, Charming Lodge, and Bobo Hotel. (two of the three are LL Packages.) We stayed at Lares De Chacras in January and loved it. We would have stayed there again however, we received a special promotion for Adalgisa so will stay there.

11-08-2012, 10:33 AMThanks, Bonnie. These are beautiful hotels! What type of transportation are you using to travel from one area to the other? I flew from BA to Bariloche in a small passenger plane and the flight was 2 hrs. I imagine it would be quite the journey if you are driving or taking a bus.
One of the highlights of my trip to Bariloche was dinner at the Llao Llao Hotel--what a gorgeous place. Every view in Bariloche is beautiful but the vistas from the Llao Llao were spectacular.
I also loved trekking in the area with the snow capped mountains above you - pure bliss!
Looking forward to hearing about the details of your trip when you return.

Hi L. We are flying from place to place. There is a flight (not daily) from Mendoza direct to Bariloche. Quite convenient and we won't have to go through BA. We will use bikes in Chacras and Bariloche to navigate the area. Where did you stay in Bariloche? Any tips?

02-09-2013, 01:27 AMI'm about ready to give up a trip to Argentina.
Runaway currency inflation is a mess.
It is obvious President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has lost control of her economy.

WHY M?????? Don't fret about the issue. Many hotels and restaurants will assist you with the currency issue. Yes, the people know that there is runaway inflation. Unfortunately, the government doesn't report the same information. What did you want to do in Argentina? What regions did you want to visit?
