Hi K...we will be in Mendoza...can you offer ideas. I am considering Finca Andalasia, Casa Glenbinas, Lares de Chacres. Any opinions?

Thanks for the Mendoza suggestions offer, kapper, but we're burning up some points with the InterContinental.....it is not a bad location, plus it is impossible to pass up 'free' nights when they are available.
We're working on the vineyards. There are several we want to visit and they are not always the easiest ones to get into.- Ω -

Hey kapper, sorry to have taken so long to respond.
Yes, we've got Mendoza pretty much finalized....we're staying at the Mendoza InterContinental and will be spending time at:
Zolo/Tapiz Winery
Luis Segundo Correas
Catena Zapata
If we have some additional time, we may drive up into the Andes....but likely will save those exploration until we get down to our LL Charming Charming - Luxury lodge and private spa - San Carlos de Bariloche, Río Negro, Patagonia Argentina package in Bariloche.
If you have some additional ideas or suggestions for BA, feel free to PM them to us.
Thanks.....- Ω -

Oh my.....that pesky ash cloud spewed by the nearby Chilean volcano Puyehue is still creating some flight cancellations out of Buenos Aires heading south into Argentina and down into Patagonia. Seems like LAN doesn't care to be flying their aircraft through those tiny particles lingering between 10,000 and 20,000 feet in their air space.
LAN did contact us and advised they believe the cloud appears to be dissipating and favorable upper level winds would clear out their air space with the next few days. Eight days and counting.....blow winds, blow! Otherwise, we'll be left with wine and tango and could miss out on treks in the lower Andes (not the worst possibilities to be left with wine and dancing).Last edited by omegaet; 10-03-2011 at 11:40 AM. Well it appears the upper level wind currents have been favorable in moving the volcanic ash cloud and LAN will once again begin serving Bariloche effective tomorrow, 06 October. Looking forward to finishing my business trip this week, packing luggage over the weekend and heading off to Mendoza next Tuesday evening. Waiting for that email to confirm out private tango lessons in BA!

Well the volcanic ash cloud is still presenting unfavorable upper level flying conditions for LAN between Buenos Aires and Bariloche so, although we are enroute (actually spending a few nights in Mendoza), Jim Sanchez & team found us a suitable alternative down in Neuquen (Valle Pardido). Mendoza has been great so far (lunch and quick tour of Club Tapiz - currently offered here on Luxury Link). Really a nice experience having lunch at Tapiz, under blue skies and watching an unseasonable snow fall happening (real time) in the distant Andes.....life is good here in Argentina!
More 'live' reports along the journey.- Ω -
