I watch alot of the international news channels as I find that NBC, ABC and CBS rarely report news items from Latin America unless it involves a drug bust or illegal immigrants. I did happen to see a little scroll across the bottom of the screen reporting the quake on NBC when I was watching the news before leaving for work the other day but nothing more on the local channels about the quake - must not have done mega damage or it probably would have been on the news since the US news does tend to report on quakes that cause major damage or deaths.
I heard from a friend in Esterillos Costa Rica that the earthquake caused no structural damage in their area, but it was felt and strong enough to "rattle the dishes", but that was all.
It seems like the earthquakes are moving out into the Pacific along some of the island chains - Vanuatu just had one.
You might be able to trace some of these earthquakes via this site List Today's Earthquakes in Vanuatu
This might be a little common. I remember Guatemala receiving earthquakes-part of the Ring of Fire in the Pacific......
