Hi O...great question. First, friends purchased air to CR without land. We highly recommended El Silencio. I would visit again however, it is difficult to try to squeeze it into 2012. You are fortunate that it is a direct flight for you. What do you think? Will you be heading back?

We would consider doing another long weekend at El Silencio. We like to consider all Central American destinations served by Spirit Airlines out of FLL. Even though we don't care much about their pricing structure (all of the phony extra fees, etc.), we like the convenience of the airport and the non-stop service. We were sorry to see the loss of the Filadelfia Estate in Antigua, Guatemala...that's another short flight for us.

We still exchange emails with the manager of El Silencio....so returning is a possibility.

I, too, have exchanged emails with the GM at El Silencio. He is so responsive and it does seem like a perfect place to stay in Costa Rica. I love to interact through social media with properties which hold interest to possible future visits. Smart on their part!
