12-28-2010, 06:36 AMHotel in Antigua
Thank you bonniejoy03! I cannot wait to be there!
Yes, Hotel Cirilo just opened in April or May this year, and it is ranked the 4th place by Trip Adviser at this moment. (when I made a reservation, it was placed at the 2nd.) My stay in Antigua is January the 1st, only for one night... it made me so difficult secure a hotel room everywhere in Antigua, especially good ones! I am looking forward to see if this is a hotel that like...

I always liked Frieda's for fun and drinks. They have a restaurant in Antigua and Guatemala City. Great for casual food and snacks. Also, La Calle del Fonda is authentic Guatemalan food. Maria, the owner, is a lovely lady with a great story. The place might seem touristy but the food is great and large portions. Again, casual. We always stop for drinks at the Irish pub, Reilly's. All places are easy to find near Los Arcos (The Arch.) These are more on the casual, fun side then fancy sit downs.....not sure what you are looking for.....have fun and ENJOY!!!

04-16-2011, 02:36 AMIt would appear Guatemala has all but dropped off the radar four Luxury Link travel choices. Wonder why?
It seemed so popular with so many of the community members for such a long time.

Hi J...Good Point. They had very bad flooding during the past 6 months. There was quite a lot of damage. Maybe that is the reason. It would be great to see more different Central American properties such as Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama....

04-17-2011, 04:47 AMIt really looks like Luxury Link has more or less turned their back on Central America, other than Costa Rica Too bad for us who like to get away from too many tourists and explore the back roads.
