LL does not have many choices in Guatemala so when I go, I tend to have find someplace on my own. They do seem to have a good bit in Belize and Costa Rica and they have added a few in Panama. Would like to see more offered in Guate!

06-16-2011, 09:38 AMCertainly appears that Luxury Link has all but given up on luxury packages in Guatemala. Too bad, since the country has so much to offer for adventure travelers.

there are quite a few luxury properties in Antigua Guatemala - would love to see some offered as well as the rest of the country - it would be nice to see the Coppola places up - I did Blancaneaux in Belize through LL years ago and it would be a great offering if LL could have all 3 Coppola packages up for bid - I for one would bid on that one! There are 2 in Belize and 1 in Guatemala and it is so easy to travel from one to the other

I agree. I stayed at the Coppola place in Tikal, La Lancha. It was very nice and a great location. Antigua has so many boutique properties. I really enjoyed Cissus boutique hotel. I would vote for any new properties in the Central and South American region. I think the new property offerings have been very light lately.

I was on Sky Auction.com and they have a few places listed in Antigua Guatemala listed. Their auctions don't have as many "perks" as LL offers but you can get some real deals on there as well as the occasional one on EBAY

09-22-2011, 10:59 AMToo bad, it looks like LL has given up on Guatemala. I still have an interest in the country and buying from LL, but Laguna Lodge Eco-Resort & Nature Reserve is not going to fill the bill. Only a few months back, there were offers in Antigua now nothing.

VRBO has some great properties and there are some really well-priced upscale lodgings around the lake--every direction, accessible by local boats. I guess last year's rain problems make the area IFFY for year round reliability?
I have a few listings saved if you're interested.
We didn't find Antigua very $$, just very crowded on a holiday! It was a layover for us--not much we wanted to see/do."wherever you go, there you are"
