Jicaro Island Eco Lodge - Nicaragua

Jicaro Island lodge has a very nice FaceBook page. Lots of contests, etc. going on and they post pictures of the latest animal sightings, pictures of guests, etc. If there is a picture that I particularly like, I comment that I will be there in March and can not wait. The resort sent me an email after one of my comments and said they may ask my husband and I if we want to have our pictures taken for some promotional stuff. Could be fun ;-)

I am really liking the communications that I have been receiving from this property and so far it is tops in my books - hope it lives up to it!

I'm looking forward to your trip, as well. I was so tempted to buy that package at first sight. I'll take a look at their facebook--thanks!

I am really looking forward to it as well, along with Aqua Wellness which starts the trip - 5 nights at Aqua and 5 nights at Jicaro. From looking at past auctions, I know others have purchased the Jicaro and Aqua packages and I was hoping that they would have written about their trip but so far have not seen anything on here - maybe they have not gone yet.

I have been reading the reviews on Trip Adviser and they all for the most part are good. I have to admit though that I take reviews on TA with a "grain of salt" especially ones written by other Americans since they give a bad review to a place without air conditioning or don't serve burgers or some other silly reason to dislike a place ;-)

I was interested to read that you had bought the Jicaro/Wellness combination. I have too and will be going in March. We are also combining the Corn Islands and Granada.
Who knows we might see you there.

when in March will you be in Jicaro - I am starting off at Aqua Wellness on March 5th and then going to Jicaro on March 10th - it is always nice to run into another LLer ;-)

We are doing our trip the other way round. Starting at Jicaro on the 11th March and then going to Aqua on the 16th.
So, we will probably see you at Jicaro.

Sent an email to Jicaro just to make sure all is well with my reservations, requests, etc. - this place has great customer service - they had every little detail down, remembered all my requests, remembered my husbands name and said looking forward to our stay.

Aqua Wellness on the other hand....... sent an email to the person who originally confirmed everything for me and someone else answered saying the 2 folks I originally was dealing with no longer worked there - had to tell them all over again about our reservation, what was included and any special requests. I am glad I am doing Aqua for the 1st portion of our trip - my instincts tell me that Jicaro will be great but Aqua may have issues ;-)
