Merger of LAN & TAM Airlines to create a large global airline

The 2 biggest airlines in Latin America announced plans to merge. This could create a top global airline serving more than a hundred locations. The name of the new airline will be LATAM Airlines.

actually the holding company will be LATAM
this is a key statement:
"create a regional airline giant that rivals some of the top global carriers."
as well as this one:
"the deal will allow both carriers to keep flying with their own brands [/B]under the control of a holding company.
and this is paramount to the merger under Brasilian law:
"Under the deal, TAM would continue to operate as a Brazilian company with its own structure."

Ooops, the article explains it well, but I should have said the name of the new company (rather than airline) will be LATAM. Sorry.
