Hi D....good news. Do I remember seeing that the owner is from England? I vaguely remember the property opening about 5 years ago and a background on the owner?

I think it did mention on their web site that she was from England - very nice and informative emails from them
D--your plans are very nicely coordinated. It may be a long way off but seems like you'll have few worries until then. I think the cooperation between the resorts is super. What was the cost for transfers from Managua for Jicaro? I got automated reply; they never answered me about which airport is best (since we can access either Managua or Costa Rica) and costs.
I get crazy when I already have a package bought but the dates are far out. We already bought our safari last Nov for this October (loved that 10% off) . Aside from that, we still haven't made it to Royal Pita Maha (rescheduled for medical reasons) and that was bought at the same time. Oh, well, someone said patience is a virtue...
Hi K....we once flew Liberia CR and had road transfers into Nicaragua. It was a mess. Not proper documentation, etc. Thank goodness DELTA stepped in and let us get through the red tape so we could fly home. I would stay with Managua as my transfer point.....
Thanks for the info, BJ03. We've flown into Liberia, too, but stayed in CR. My drive was only about a half hour and the car sat at the resort most of the time.
In general, I don't like the idea of crossing borders in any unknown region--car or transfer...
The last time I was in CR was around 2003 or so and we did a 1 day crossing into Nica for a tour of Granada - the bus driver took care of all border crossing formalities and there were no problems.
Jicaro is charging $65 for the airport transfer - we only need it 1 way from Jicaro to Managua airport at the end of the trip. We start at the Aqua Wellness resort which includes transfers in their LL package - they will pick us up at Managua airport on our arrival (about a 1 1/2 hr., drive to Aqua) and then take us to Jicaro boat dock at the end of the Aqua package. Jicaro did not include transfers in their package but they do include all meals which Aqua does not. Both places look pretty amazing and in great locations so should be a good trip for 2013
