Sarapiqui River-White Water Rafting, Zip Line or Rappelling

We will be going to Costa Rica and part of the package that we purchased is a choice of Horse Back Riding, White Water Rafting, Zip Line tour or Rappelling in the Sarapiqui River area. We have pretty much thrown the Horse Back Riding choice out and are definite on the White Water Rafting so that leaves one more choice. We are leaning towards the Zip Line Tour hoping it is a canopy tour but want to know if you have done any of the three activities and your thoughts on the activity. Would you do it again? I don't think we will have a choice of tour company as it is part of the package but if you would recommend a certain one, pls let us know.

betsyv, I have done zip lines in Costa Rica, but not necessarily in the same location as you are considering. I think I read in another posting you are headed to El Silencio.



Are you asking about zip lines in general, zip lines which involve a jungle canopy, or specifically about the zip line operations at this property?

Thanks Kapper! yes, we are going to El Silencio but since there wasn't a huge response to the questions there, I decided to try a thread about Sarapiqui River where it is my understanding that the Zip Line Tour is located. Reading on the internet, I have inferred that the zip line tour will be a canopy tour but am not really sure. So I guess I am asking about any of the three-zip line tours, zip line tours under a jungle canopy and zip line tours over the sarapiqui river. We won't be able to know a whole lot before we make our decision so I am just trying to gain any knowledge we can. So if you don't mind, give us any info about any or some or all of the three.

B....If you look at El Silencio site, you will be able to see the Park where they take you for the activities. This might help your decision. They review each of the activities. Looks great!

Bonniejoy, I am embarrassed to say I have read that website forward and backwards, backwards and forwards and at least 10 times. I never noticed the name of the Lodge where they take us for the activities until you said so. I did go to it's website and did read more about the activities and the short testimonials about them. Thank you so much!
