I'm thinking about having my wedding at a villa in the Puerto Vallarta area next year. Has anyone done this or been to one that they can recommend? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Ablock26,
You might check out the villas/homes to rent in the Sayulita area north of Puerto Vallarta. The beach there is fantastic and there are many homes to rent...some in "compounds" of 4 or so houses per compound, which would work well for a wedding group. Many of the properties are not too expensive. We are renting a 3 bedroom villa in one of these compounds during February and it is running about $1800.00 per week.
Good luck!

hi ablock26,
have you given thought yet to Sayulita... we recently returned from 2 weeks there and had an AMAZING TIME... so much more fun than Puerto Vallarta and the selection of accomodations is AWESOME!
Go to www.sayulitalife.com and then click on the tab: maps of homes(located on the far left) What this will do is bring up a map of many of the homes in Sayulita and you can click on the locations that interest you to check out the houses. We stayed in:
Serena in Las Hamacas... this was RIGHT ON THE BEACH -About 3200 square feet (3 bedroom) of total relaxation, high, high quality furnishings, bathrooms for everyone, huge COMFORTABLE BEDS (something quite unheard of in rentals in Mexico) and a wonderful property manager. You can check this out via www.sayulitalife.com The photos do not do it justice at all!
We have also booked another two weeks next year in Las Gemeles which is basically right next door... We are saying in the two bedroom Casa Los Amigos, but I seen all of these, and Casa Viviana, which is the three bedroom is totally awesome too! This overall property/compound is fantastic with the pool right on the oceanfront, and all the homes open up to view the ocean/pool. The same property managers for this group as Las Hamacas
Also, if you don't need/want to be right on the beach, there is another property about 2 blocks away that is beyond incredible. it is called Casa Daniandra. Definitely look this one up on sayulitalife.com and see for yourself how amazing it is. We scoped it out when we were there and drooled, drooled, drooled.
The town of Sayulita is so much fun and easy to get around. The beaches are really clean, the water warm, plenty of restaurants (and some of the excellent!) and small tiendas to get groceries, beer, tequila etc! This is a CASH TOWN, no banks and the few ATMS that they have never get refilled... There is about 2 places that take credit cards, so its cash for everything else.
They were just finishing paving one of the main roads while we were there... but most of the other roads are dirt, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone, including the visitors. The locals are very friendly and seem to appreciate the tourists that do come into town - I think because so many of them are there because it is not PV or Ixtapa... but rather a quaint, fishing/surfing village with great weather and beaches!
There are plenty of accomodations in Sayulita that could host a wedding party... many with 6 bedrooms, or you could rent the whole compound type thing...
If you need any more info, send me a message.
