Looking for Small, all-inclusive, Highly Rated Resort in Riveria Maya/Cancun area
My husband and I have never been to Mexico but wish to spend 4 nights there at a small, intimate, first-class resort. Does anyone have a top-rated (Conde Nast or Travel & Leisure or similar) resort to recommend?????
Re: Looking for Small, all-inclusive, Highly Rated Resort in Riveria Maya/Cancun area
Finest All-Inclusive is Hideaway. Caters to slightly older clients than most AI's in the area.
I have heard that Royal Playacar is more upscale than most. I highly recommend Aventura Spa Palace (it is large, tho) but has no children and an excellent spa and very good food.
I would check on tripadvisor.com for reviews of some of the other better resorts like Blue Tulum and others near Akumal.

Thanks for your message. I googled Hideaway and came up only with Royal Hideaway Playacar...is that the one? I know you mentioned Royal Playacar in the next sentence, but it seemed from reading it that perhaps Hideaway was different... Pls. clarify.
Do you know anything about Tulum? I've read about it but since it wasn't beachfront, I was shying away from it...
Re: Looking for Small, all-inclusive, Highly Rated Resort in Riveria Maya/Cancun area
oops--sorry--I was making one by misnaming the second place. There is another Royal in Playa Del Carmen (aka Playa, not Playacar, which is gated community, where you'll find the Royal Hideaway Playacar)
If you want beachfront, ask if it's actually a swimming beach. Tulum should have resorts right on the water.
Re: Looking for Small, all-inclusive, Highly Rated Resort in Riveria Maya/Cancun area
My husband and I stayed at Aventura Spa Palace last year and we were so impressed we bought a membership. Palace resorts owns about 10 resorts in the Cancun/Riveria Maya/Cozumel area. This past summer we stayed at Playacar palace. We loved both resorts for different reasons. Aventura Spa Palace and Sun Palace in cancun are both Adults Only, whichis nice. If you'd like check out www.palaceresorts.com or www.tripadvisor.com for the reviews. My membership entitles me to pass on my member rates to interested parties, so if you're interested I can let you know what the rates are. My membership includes all meals, drinks, airport transfers, massage, pedicure, manicure, best available room, unlimited select tours (Tulum, Coba etc.) and more.
