Re: Need suggestions for All Inclusive Resort in Mexico for couples
Hi looove2travel,
Well, you didn't give many specifics, but I'll offer some suggestions anyway! In the Riviera Maya there is a nice all-inclusive called Riu Palace Mexico. It's a very good value, the rooms are very nice, the food and service are very good and the beach is great, even after all of the recent storms. It might be a good choice for a group. the guests are mainly couples and they cater to a somewhat European crowd.
For a bit more upscale resort, try Secrets Capri. The most upscale all-inclusive in that area is the Royal Hideaway. I was there in December and had a wonderful time. It's a smaller resort, the restaurants are intimate, and the food and service is top-knotch. It's a bit quiet, a popular honeymooner spot. The beach is smaller than the Rui Palace, but still good.
If you're looking for more nightlife, you probably want to try one of the all-inclusives in Cancun, rather than Riviera Maya, which tends to be more low-key. If you have any questions about the resorts I mentioned, I'll try my best to answer.

Hi Disneygal & Looove3travel
I would have to agree with you suggesting The Riu Palace, Riviera Maya. We really enjoyed our stay there. There are quite a few hotels under the Rui name, just make sure you request The Palace. The resort is elegantly decorated, I remember the rooms being large with a sitting area, and a nicely stocked bar. The food was veryexcellent at the restaurants. They also offer you a wine list to choose your wine for your meal. With mostof all the inclusive hotels in Mexico you are not able to choose bottles of wine, you are usually offered red or white by theglass.

I would definately seriously consider the Secrets resorts. Also the Excellence Riviera Cancun which was owned by the Secrets Group up until recently, is another beautiful resort. Many people who have been going to Sandals Resorts for years are now going to Secrets instead as it is much nicer and prices are a lot better. They are in the process of building two new Secrets Resorts and one of them is on Maroma beach which is considered the most beautiful in Mexico. You should check out the Secrets Resort's website and get all the info.I think you would be very impressed

Thank you for all of your suggestions. The Secrets and Excellence look very nice. I will check out the others also. I priced a Sandals since we have friends that always go and their prices are too high for some in our group. The Secrets lady told me the new one will be done the end of 2007 and she said they might have a special for the new year to draw people there. Thank you again. If you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them.

Hi looove2travel,
I was actually suggesting the Riu Palace Mexico, and not the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. The "Riviera Maya" is a beautiful hotel, but they have NO BEACH. And I mean NONE! Two2go, I'm not sure when you where at the Rui Palace Rivier Maya, but it's very sad. The Riu Palace Mexico is in the same general area, but on a long stretch of beautiful beach.

Hi looove2travel :
Check out The Royal Hideaway, this is a very upscale place with great amenities. There are also some great deals out there on this property and it's in Cancun. Also check out Las Brisas (a LL property) in Alcapulco. They have these beautiful rooms with private pools and a great deal for a nice vacation.

Yes, I agree with enewseven that Royal Hideaway is wonderful. It's actually in Playacar, the area just south of Playa del Carmen. You do fly into Cancun, and then it's about an hour south. I don't think Las Brisas is all-inclusive, is it? There are a number of all-inclusive properties on the Pacfic coast of Mexico though. Looove2travel, did you have a preference for the Pacific vs. the Caribbean?
