Re: Puebla, Mexico - Meson Sacrista del al Campania
I wish I had seen this before I booked the PV dates - I could have added this in between Puebla and PV - especially sine I have another certificate I can use! This is a great deal - I went on their site and this particular room is almost $300 a night.
I don't really want to double back from PV to Mexico City - I wonder if I can change the dates for the PV portion after they are booked - anyone done this?Roam if you want to, roam around the world...........

Re: Puebla, Mexico - Meson Sacrista del al Campania
I have been able to do this in many cases, since we fly standby most of the time. I always ask prior to bidding on a pkg, but I'm sure you could find out very quickly. Good luck.

Re: Puebla, Mexico - Meson Sacrista del al Campania
I just sent LL an email asking if it is possible to change the PV dates - I would only need to move them back 2 days since the MC package is for 2 nights. I also sent Lumina an email asking about dates in March - their online reservation system shows nothing beyond October

Denise....don't know what you have investigated as far as guide services for some of your explorations outside of Puebla. Just in case you are interested, you might wish to communicate with Carlos Riveros. We used the services of Carlos for a couple of "off menu" visits we wanted to make and he was exceptional.
He arranged for us to visit several of the surrounding archeological sites. We were especially please with the time he spent and the information he shared with us during out visit toCacaxtla.
We wanted to meet with a specific Talavera pottery artist and negotiate the purchase of couple of pieces of her work and some tiles.....it wasn't a standard tour. Carlos came through like a real pro....we were able to visit her small workshop, discuss her work and consummate a satisfactory transaction.

Re: Puebla, Mexico - Meson Sacrista del al Campania
It is funny you mentioned this - I did a search and have already sent an email to Carlos about tours! We were going to use him to go to Teotihuacan but it looks like we are going to add 2 nights in Mexico City between Puebla & PV so we will go from MC. In Puebla we do want to go to Cholula and the other sites around there so Carlos may get some business from us. I do have to say that the hotel really wants us to use them for tour services - Elisa their hotel manager has sent me a few emails saying they would love to help us with our touristic endeavors! Besides the cooking classes which I am guessing are 3 hours per day, we are trying to cram a bunch of stuff in - the package gives us museum tickets, city tour and some other tour besides the cooking classes so much to do! Just waiting to see if my PV hotel dates get changed so we can add the 2 night MC package in the middle!

denise...as I recall, the cooking classes run about three and half to four hours....since you are actually preparing your own lunch (more or less "eat what you kill" )....the museum is about three blocks from the property....EZ walk....and the city tour is a guided walk and is pretty much at the pace you wish to go.

The trip is booked - 6 nights in Meson Sacrista in Puebla, 2 nights at the Lumina in Mexico City and 3 nights at the Villa Premiere in Puerta Vallarta. Now I am working on the international flights, internal transportation and tours. Have had good communication with Carlos Rivera in Mexico - will probably use him for transportation in Puebla - from the airport and to Cholula. Also discovered another good internal transport and tour option - Wayak - really good rates for Teotihuacan tour from MC and transport from Puebla to MC.
Of course all 3 properties have sent me emails saying they would love to provide services for all our needs - in some instances at a very high price! I have to admit the Lumina suites sent me a very nice welcoming email the day after LL confirmed my dates. And my contact with Meson Sacrista in Puebla has been very good. Villa Premiere in PV - suprisingly for a very expensive hotel, does not offer transportation from the PV airport to the hotel - their response was "just take a cab" they did offer me some options if I wanted a room upgrade or spa services but I don't think I will take them up on this. This is the 1st time I have bundled 3 LL packages into 1 trip and LL has been very good with all the details and some minor date changes - can't wait till March since I really need a break from work!

08-17-2010, 09:58 PMIf it's the same Carlos and Eliza that we were fortunate enough to have while in Puebla, you'll have a great time and experience.
As for PV, the airport is quite close to the PV town so taxi rides are quite inexpensive (about $10 to the hotel zone). Compare to Los Cabos, PV is a lot more affordable and way more interesting.

I have booked Carlos for a few things while in Puebla and have the Teotihuacan tour from Mexico City all scheduled (used Wayakbus.com for this - they have some great services and very responsive to emails and have lots of suggestions - you can also pay through PayPal if you have an account which makes it very handy)
